About Us
The Clopton Community Forum was initiated in the summer of 2001. It is made up of local residents who work as
volunteers in the community and is supported by representatives from various agencies including:
Stratford District Council, SWHA, the police, Community Education and the
Parenting Project.
The Forum meets monthly to discuss things that are relevant to the local community such as: local open spaces, litter,
activities for young and old people, community training, traffic issues. Anyone from the
Clopton area is welcome to come to the meetings and raise an issue for discussion. It is hoped that as the Forum is recognized by the local agencies and
councils it can be a formal voice for the community that will be heard and provoke action. A list of meeting dates is
available here.
Clopton Community Forum is managed by a committee who are responsible for the Ken Kennett Centre. Over the last few years
the Forum have undertaken residents’ surveys which clearly indicated that if the Ken Kennett Centre were improved then many
sections of the community would take advantage of the improved building. It was these results that enabled the Forum to
apply for and gain grants from PIE, the Stratford Town Trust and the Stratford District Council in order to refurbish the
Ken Kennett Centre.

Work started during 2005 and was finished in time for the popular summer Open Day which comprised several stalls, games
and events on the green as well as giving local residents the opportunity to view the freshly refurbished KKC.
Since the open day, the centre has increasingly been booked out by the local community for private events, as well as by
agencies such as the Parenting Project who put on various activities for local parents. Interest in the centre is growing
and there are several other regular events planned such as a youth club, bingo, lunch clubs etc.
